Discussion on Ontario’s Energy System – Parts 1 and 2

In part 1 Laura Chesnik of Empower Yourself Now interviews Gord Gibbins, chair of the Alliance to Protect Prince Edward County (APPEC), Janet Wilson, president of Wind Concerns Ontario (WCO) and Margaret Benke, board member of WCO about their experiences founding or getting involved with grassroots organizations to work together to address their concerns with the widespread introduction of government financed industrial wind farm projects in their communities as part of Ontario’s Green Energy Act. In Part 2, below we discuss how their experiences with the Green Energy Act has informed their current work to ensure that citizens are informed and have a say in the direction Ontario takes for its energy generation, in particular the push for a great role of industrial Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS).
